Code Enforcement Officer/Assessor’s Agent/Select Board Assistant

The Town of Waterford is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Code Enforcement Officer / Assessor’s Agent / Assistant to the Select Board. This position is responsible for enforcement of land use regulations, basic assessing duties, and administrative assistance. The preferred candidate will be a Certified Maine Assessor (or equivalent experience/knowledge), certified in Land Use Planning and Shoreland Zoning (or able to be certified within 12 months), and have experience with municipal government.

The successful candidate is expected to carry out his/ her responsibilities with initiative, independence, and confidentiality while exercising good problem-solving skills and professional judgment. Individuals must have the ability to interact with the public professionally. Computer fluency in Microsoft Word and Excel and understanding of submitted plans are required. Experience with TRIO software is desirable. Job description is available upon request.

This is a permanent position with full-time benefits (health insurance, retirement, paid time off), and a competitive salary commensurate with experience. Approximately 35 hour per week position with the potential to be a 40-hour week position.  At least three evening meetings per month are required.
