Lessard re-elected selectman 162-8

WATERFORD – Board of Selectmen Chairman Randy Lessard handily beat political newcomer Allan Barden in Friday's annual town election by a vote of 162-8.

After the election, Lessard said he felt the race was a"big win" for the town in turning out so many voters.
"I'm very, very grateful and humbled (by voters' support)," he said.
Also re-elected to a three-year term was SAD 17 director Barry Patrie who garnered 132 votes.
Lessard ran in large part on his record of success, along with his fellow board members, with getting the town's financial house in order over the past nine years. He considers the need to control taxes critical work for the board. He also cited retaining Waterford's sense of community as important.
Lessard will continue his work with board members John Bell and Wyatt Andrews.
Action of the 70-article town meeting warrant will continue at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 4, in the Municipal Building on Valley Road.
